Modern Slavery Act Statement
This Modern Slavery Act Statement explains our commitment to preventing modern slavery in our operations and supply chains.
1. Introduction
This statement is made pursuant to Section 54(1) of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps that Cybnode has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place within our business or supply chains.
Cybnode is firmly committed to conducting business ethically, transparently, and with integrity. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking in all their forms and are dedicated to ensuring that our operations and supply chains remain free from such practices.
2. About Cybnode
Cybnode is a London-based technology company specialising in cybersecurity, software development, and digital infrastructure solutions. We provide consulting, development, and security services for clients across the United Kingdom, Hungary, and Poland.
As a small but expanding company, our operations are primarily office- and cloud-based, with a limited physical supply chain. Nevertheless, we recognise our responsibility to prevent any form of modern slavery or forced labour within our business activities and among our suppliers and partners.
3. Our Commitment
Cybnode is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all areas of our business relationships. We strive to ensure that slavery, servitude, forced labour, and human trafficking have no place in our operations or supply chains.
We expect the same high standards from all our contractors, suppliers, and business partners. We are working to ensure that these expectations are clearly communicated, understood, and upheld throughout our relationships.
4. Supply Chain and Risk Management
Cybnode's supply chain primarily consists of professional service providers, including software vendors, cloud infrastructure providers, IT consultants, and office support suppliers. While the risk of modern slavery in our direct supply chain is considered low due to the nature of our business, we recognise that indirect risks can exist in areas such as hardware manufacturing, outsourced development, and facility services.
We mitigate these risks by carefully selecting reputable suppliers who share our commitment to ethical business conduct. When entering into new supplier agreements, we consider their policies, practices, and reputation with respect to labour rights, environmental standards, and corporate responsibility.
5. Policies and Procedures
Cybnode has implemented internal policies designed to prevent modern slavery and promote ethical practices. These include:
- Code of Conduct: All employees and contractors are expected to adhere to Cybnode's Code of Conduct, which promotes respect for human rights and fair working practices.
- Whistleblowing Policy: We encourage employees to report any concerns regarding unethical behaviour, including potential breaches of this statement, without fear of retaliation.
- Supplier Code of Ethics (in development): As part of our future plans, Cybnode is developing a supplier code of ethics to ensure that all partners meet our standards in relation to labour rights, anti-slavery practices, and human dignity.
We also intend to incorporate modern slavery clauses into future supplier contracts to ensure compliance and accountability.
6. Training and Awareness
As a growing company, Cybnode recognises the importance of ensuring that all staff understand the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking. We are committed to raising awareness among employees, particularly those involved in procurement and supplier management.
Training and internal communications will continue to highlight how to identify potential warning signs and the appropriate channels for reporting any concerns.
7. Continuous Improvement
Cybnode understands that preventing modern slavery is an ongoing process. We are committed to continually improving our practices, policies, and supplier management systems. Over time, as our operations expand, we intend to formalise our supply chain due diligence processes and further align them with ISO 14001 and other internationally recognised ethical standards.
We will continue to review our business practices annually and make improvements where necessary to ensure we uphold the highest ethical standards.
8. Approval
This statement has been approved by the Executive Board of Cybnode and will be reviewed annually to ensure its continued relevance and effectiveness.
